AOD-9604

What is AOD-9604?

AOD-9604 (Advanced Obesity Drug) was developed in the 1990s by Professor Frank Ng at Monash University in Australia. Its purpose was to create an anti-obesity drug with the fat-burning benefits of human growth hormone (HGH) but without the muscle-building effects.

BIOV8 uses only premium pharmaceutical-grade ingredients in all of our products. Please refer to the clinical studies and research below for more details.

Snapshot

AOD-9604 is considered one of the most potent weight loss peptides. According to clinical studies, it helps regulate metabolism by stimulating the body’s natural fat-burning process. AOD-9604 triggers the release of fat from obese fat cells while also limiting the formation of new fat in surrounding cells. It mimics the way natural growth hormone regulates fat metabolism without affecting blood sugar. AOD-9604 stimulates lipolysis (the breakdown of fat) and inhibits lipogenesis (the process of converting food into fat).

Research conducted at Monash University revealed that AOD-9604’s fat-reducing effects are controlled by a small region of the Growth Hormone molecule, which stimulates fat breakdown. It is widely regarded as a powerful weight loss peptide with minimal side effects.

While these studies are promising, they remain preliminary and further research is needed to confirm these findings. Additionally, AOD-9604 is being tested for its potential use in treating osteoarthritis, hypercholesterolemia, and supporting bone and cartilage repair. It has an excellent safety profile and has recently achieved Human GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status in the USA.

Potential Benefits

• Targets and reduces stubborn body fat
• Triggers fat release from obese fat cells without affecting lean tissue
• Increases IGF-1 levels, supporting fat reduction
• Promotes energy expenditure
• Improves lipid profiles and lipolytic activity

Key Effects

• Mimics the body’s natural growth hormone activity
• No adverse effects on blood sugar or body growth
• Stimulates lipolysis (fat breakdown)
• Inhibits lipogenesis (conversion of food into fat)

AOD-9604 does not increase appetite or raise cortisol levels, unlike the GHRP family (GHRP-6, GHRP-2, or Hexarelin).

How It Works

AOD-9604 promotes weight loss through a mechanism similar to growth hormone supplementation, but without increasing food consumption, blood sugar, or insulin resistance. It stimulates fat breakdown (lipolysis) and fat burning (oxidation) by a unique mechanism that does not require the HGH receptor.

One theory suggests that AOD-9604 interacts with a specific receptor on fat cells, triggering fat release from obese fat cells more effectively than from lean cells. This process helps reduce the accumulation of fat and boosts fat burning, particularly in visceral fat stores, which are harmful abdominal fats surrounding vital organs.

Possible Side Effects

• Headache
• Diarrhoea
• Nausea

Technical Overview and History

AOD-9604 is a modified peptide fragment of HGH, also known as GH Frag 176-191. It was developed by Professor Frank Ng at Monash University in the 1990s as a fat-burning alternative to HGH, without the muscle-building effects.

Clinical Studies and Research

Safety and Tolerability of AOD-9604 in Humans (Heike Stier, Evert Vos, David Kenley)

Background: AOD-9604 is a safe peptide fragment of the C-terminus of HGH with activity related to weight loss. This study reviews the safety data obtained from clinical trials involving AOD-9604.

Methods: Six randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials were conducted to assess the effects of AOD-9604 and whether it caused the typical side effects seen with HGH treatments, such as increased IGF-1 levels, insulin resistance, and impaired glucose tolerance.

Results: AOD-9604 did not affect serum IGF-1 levels or carbohydrate metabolism. No serious adverse events were reported, and patients did not develop anti-AOD-9604 antibodies.

Conclusion: AOD-9604 demonstrated excellent safety and tolerability, without the negative effects often seen with full-length HGH treatments.
