Snapshot

Ipamorelin is one of the latest and greatest peptides in the growth factor family. Deemed one of the safest GHRPs, Ipamorelin is a selective growth hormone (GH) secretagogue and Ghrelin receptor agonist.

This peptide generates similar increases in growth hormone secretion, but without the appetite stimulation and increase in cortisol, acetylcholine, prolactin, and aldosterone seen with other peptides in its class.

Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide – a hormone composed of five amino acids – that emulates the natural growth hormone release found in the human body.

In essence, it’s a growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP), an analogue of ghrelin, the ‘hunger’ hormone known for its stimulation of appetite. Ipamorelin binds to the ghrelin receptor, inducing the release of growth hormone. This increases the number of GH-releasing cells (somatotrophs) in each pulse of growth hormone by suppressing somatostatin, a hormone that inhibits GH production.

Much like other peptides, Ipamorelin stimulates growth hormone release in a similar manner to the growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), facilitating many of the benefits for which patients seek it out.

Ipamorelin acts as a method of growth hormone (GH) restoration. When used as a therapy, it stimulates the pituitary gland to produce a greater amount of endogenous growth hormone, allowing the body to naturally produce the hormone rather than artificially injecting it.

How Does Ipamorelin Work?

When Ipamorelin is administered, the hormone stimulates the pituitary gland to release higher levels of human growth hormone in the body. This, in turn, facilitates muscle growth and development.

Potential Benefits

• Decreased body fat
• Increased collagen production
• Increased lean muscle mass
• Improved sleep
• Increased cellular repair and regeneration
• Increased IGF-1
• Increased bone mineral content
• Counteracts glucocorticoid catabolic effects
• Less appetite stimulation than GHRP-6
• Less release of cortisol, prolactin, and aldosterone

Ipamorelin has been shown to be highly potent with good safety and tolerability in clinical studies.

Research has shown that Ipamorelin is growth hormone-specific, meaning pituitary hormones (such as cortisol) remain unaffected.

Ipamorelin may be one of the best alternatives available to HGH therapy.

As an added perk, it does not promote increased production of the enzyme ghrelin, which stimulates hunger. This means it will not make you hungry, due to Ipamorelin’s ability to control gastric, appetite, and growth motility.

Another significant advantage is that Ipamorelin does not significantly boost cortisol levels, unlike some other secretagogues that cause unwanted effects like jitters or nervousness due to their impact on cortisol levels.

DOSAGE

Suggested dosage: 0.10ml per day, 5 days out of 7 (10 weeks supply).

Transdermal Option: 200mcg/mL x 50mL – Apply 1mL daily, 5 days out of 7 (10 weeks supply).

Generally, the recommended dose for Ipamorelin is 200 to 300 mcg per day. Most Ipamorelin treatments last 8 to 12 weeks, though they can last longer. A single dose of Ipamorelin lasts up to three hours. Exceeding the recommended dosage can cause potentially disfiguring cartilage and bone growth, so it’s important to consult a medical professional.

Ipamorelin works in a “pulsatile fashion”, working with the body’s natural chemistry without depleting existing growth hormone reserves.

Patients generally take Ipamorelin for 3 to 6 months to benefit from its weight loss effects and improved body composition. Others may use it for 6 to 12 months to experience its anti-aging benefits, such as improved sleep, cognition, and body composition.

Potential Side Effects

• Redness, itchiness, or irritation at the injection site (usually temporary)
• Increased appetite/hunger (can be due to a boosted metabolism and muscle mass gains)
• Dry mouth
• Nausea
• Increased weight (typically due to muscle mass gains and weight loss)
